How to make light bulb?

電球はどうやって光るのか

An incandescent light bulb is made up of three main parts: a filament, a glass bulb, and a base. An incandescent light bulb emits light by passing an electric current through a metal wire called a filament, which gradually raises the temperature. The temperature at which the light bulb shines is 2000 to 3000 degrees. It's pretty hot, isn't it?

"Then why can it be used safely without causing a fire at such a high temperature..." A gas called "inert gas" is contained in the glass bulb containing the filament. This inert gas is a mixture of gas that prevents combustion, such as carbon dioxide, and is also used in fire extinguishing equipment. Thanks to this inert gas, fire is prevented.

There are also other glass bulbs that have a vacuum instead of an inert gas. In addition to preventing combustion, the vacuum state and inert gas have the role of "prolonging the life of the light bulb". The metal used in the filament that carries the current has the property of oxidizing when exposed to oxygen, which shortens the life of the bulb.
